I've been trying to put the meaning of true faith into perspective. My thesaurus gives several synonyms, including the words "hope" and "trust." But if you look up "trust" in the dictionary, "hope" is not included in a list of words such as, "confidence," "certainty," and "reliance." As some struggle with Jesus' credibility as a Messiah, we often doubt Him and our own salvation. To have true faith, to fully rely on Him, one cannot merely "hope" He's with us. Hoping is often too much like wishing, in which we would like for it to be true, but in all realistic probability, it's not. But Jesus is very real, and very true in His love for us.
After all He's done, who are we to merely hope?
