30 Things You Probably Never Knew About Me

1. When I was twelve, I had an insane crush on Jonathan Taylor Thomas. You know, the middle child on Home Improvement? He was hot back in the day.

2. I am only outgoing when other people are shy, they approach me first, or I am exceptionally hopped up on caffeine. Other charming, intelligent people intimidate me, and it has been my observation that I am prone to saying very foolish things. I figure when in doubt, I should just not talk.

3. When I was eight, I saw a 20/20 special on jungle tribes in South America. They showed them eating leaves straight off of the tree. I realized rather quickly that very few things are edible in our backyard.

4. As a Christian, I feel very much behind in actually knowing anything. I know what I believe, and I know when God's communicating with me, but I'm pretty sure I'm Bible illiterate. I working on it.

5. Even as a vegetarian, there are days that I miss meatloaf.

6. I really wish I could pin down who I was. I feel like I'm so multidimensional, that everyone I meet has a different idea of who I am. No one is really patient enough to put it all together. I don't blame them; I'd be exhausted.

7. Whether I can or I can't, I wish I could fix everything.

8. I absolutely hate stepping on the cracks of sidewalk squares.

9. As much as I say I'm excited about using my talents to minister to women in the secular acting world, I am petrified.

10. Colors look so much better to me when they're paired with other colors.

11. At home, I feel like people made this rule that I'm not allowed to have problems, with the exception of advising them on their own. At school, I feel like all I do is vent. I hate living in extremes. For once I'd just like to be.

12. My dad used to take me on a drive and play the song "Free Fallin'" by Tom Petty on his cassette player whenever I was upset.

13. My biggest fear is people thinking I'm an idiot, weak, or needy.

14. I can count a handful of people who probably think exactly that.

15. It makes me incredibly sad that I'm fully capable of belting it out in the shower, but my voice doesn't sound half as good on stage.

16. I used to use the excuse, "I'm a terrible cook." when really, I was just lazy. I've found I like baking, though.

17. When I use the phrase, "I don't care." it's probably when I care the most. Only believe me if I say, "no worries."

18. When I was six, I had nightmares about the Lorax.

19. As much as I say I love my family, I don't appreciate them half as much as I should.

20. I love rain, especially in the fall. It smells better in the fall.

21. I'm afraid I won't hold up during the auditions I'll have to go through. I'm pretty sure I don't look like what They are looking for.

22. My ears are different sizes.

23. I believed in Santa Clause until fifth grade.

24. I'm afraid I won't be a good mother, assuming I get married.

25. I'm not nearly as tough as I try to come off.

26. I was taught to do things for myself, and never let a man do anything for me. It took me awhile to get used to the guys at Judson.

27. I hate the movie Happy Feet.

28. I wish I had a mentor, because I really don't know what I'm doing.

29. I don't think there's a single sport I'm actually good at.

30. Contrary to popular belief, the choices I have made for my lifestyle were by no means influenced by my dad's occupation (he's a cop, for anyone who didn't know). That's right, I simply used my brain.

Forget the Protocol, I'll Take Your Hand Right in Mine

I want to go on a road trip. Like, one of those ridiculously perfect, incredibly enlightening, movie magic road trips.

I want to learn how to do a fisherman's rib stitch, and knit a billion ugly, misshapen sweaters. My friends would thank me eventually.

I want to go fishing in Maine, and stay in a shack on the coast, with only a pack of cards and a few choice books as entertainment.

I want to go climb redwoods in Washington, then go drink coffee afterword.

I want to learn how to surf, go sailing, heck, parasailing, go scuba diving.

But most of all, I want to love without ceasing, without doubt, without embarrassment, without hesitation, without thought. And I want to be known just as generously.
