I didn't vote for Obama. I also didn't drop the obscenities so many individuals did when he won. I understand how important this election was, but for so many to give up hope so readily...I have difficulty understanding how that is at all Christian. Did God die when Obama won? No. Has he forsaken our country because we now have a Democratic president? No. I have faith in our God and the prayers that were lifted to Him during the entirety of the campaign race. I believe that He heard everyone, including my last minute plea as I stepped up to the booth. And I believe that God will be involved completely whether our leader is white, black, gay, straight, liberal, conservative, or any other extremes you can agrue about. I feel that those spirits that are so readily crushed because a political preference was not fufilled puts God in a box so confining that is worse to condemn our new president rather than the event he was elected at all.
This is not to say that Obama's victory is a perilous event. I will stand behind whomever is elected. At this point, that is all you can do. To boast about our democratic process only to be outraged with the outcome later is both ridiculous and stupid. Obama won, McCain lost. If you feel it wasn't God's will, don't complain. Pray. Even if you do feel it was God's will, I still urge you to pray.
This election did not take away our rights and freedoms, it did not take away our beliefs, and it certainly did not take away our God. Such a grim outlook is certainly the work of Satan, and I refuse to let him take away my trust in God and the country He has placed me in.
Congratulations Obama. I pray you are granted wisdom in every descision you make.
