What do you do when a friend makes a bad decision? You try to talk them out of it right? But sometimes there's one person that tells your friend exactly what they want to hear, and now they're impervious to all sense. I tried to be like Job's friends, before they put their two cents in. I kept silent and only gave my opinion when it was requested of me. Of course, they had "considered my advice" and "really took it to heart"; all they really wanted was to calm their conscience by telling me what they decided, because they knew I wasn't going to just leave them to fend for themselves. I really hate it when people know me so well that they know how to use me.
So then I read about Nathan and his brave words to King David. He could have gotten killed for what he said to him. And I tried that. When that didn't work. I could tell in their face that they knew my statements were true, and my logic both valid and sound. Too bad it didn't coincide with what they want.
I'm really scared for her right now. But what do you do when you feel like you're screaming to a friend that's encased themself in a soundproof box?
